Position: Laboratory Manager

Required Knowledge: quasar energy group seeks an individual with a strong science background to manage the daily operations of our state-of-the art laboratory in Wooster, Ohio on the Ohio State University’s Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center campus. Key skills and necessary experience include:
Strong personnel and supervisory experience needed to manage the daily scheduling and production, to meet deadlines and client turnaround time expectations. Prior experience with managing a testing laboratory is preferred.
Customer service experience with a focus on providing outstanding customer care needed along with a technical background to provide technical support to clients.
Experience in general troubleshooting and maintenance of laboratory instruments to ensure continuing operations desirable.
Sufficient knowledge of organic and inorganic environmental analytical procedures required including EPA methods, Standard Methods, and other laboratory protocols.
Knowledge of analytical chemistry and environmental testing needed to monitor the analytical procedures and data generated by the laboratory.
Understanding of laboratory QA/QC procedures to support the quality system and maintain accreditations and certifications.
Experience in the waste water treatment industry preferred
A B.S. degree in the chemical, biological science, physical sciences, or engineering is required with at least 24 college semester hours in chemistry. A minimum of 5 years experience in managing an environmental laboratory desirable. Salary is commensurate with experience.
