COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Gov. Strickland is speaking Monday morning at a groundbreaking for quasar energy's Renewable Energy System in Columbus.
The event got underway about 10 a.m. at 2500 Jackson Pike. It's being attended by the governor, quasar energy group CEO Mel Kurtz, Ohio Department of Development Director Lisa Patt-McDaniel, Ohio EPA Director Chris Korleski and Columbus Mayor Michael B. Coleman.
The new renewable energy plant on Columbus' south side will convert bio-solid waste to green electricity.
quasar energy received Third Frontier money last December. Quasar executives say that money helped them break ground much sooner than expected.
